The best cup to transition baby from bottle is a round silicone straw cup. Stick to soft silicone so that as they’re mobile, they don’t have the risk of tripping and hurting their mouth with a hard straw. Here’s my favorites:
Honey Bear Cup is great for the initial transition! It has a seal so that you can gently squeeze and deliver small sips up the straw for your little one to learn how to suck from the straw on their own.
The mushie straw cup is not spill-proof. It’s great for new straw drinkers who may be discouraged by the amount of force required to suck from the spill-proof straw cups.
The zak is my personal favorite for my littles. Spill proof, but super easy to clean (3 simple pieces- the lid, the straw base and the silicone straw top). I love the stainless steel option to keep milk colder a bit longer.
The Grosmimi is also spill-proof and fairly simple to clean. I love that it has a cap if I want to throw it in my bag and not worry about the few drops from inside the silicone part leaking out.
The Munchkin is the best price point and is great because it has the weighted straw. Bottle drinkers may be slow to learn that they don’t have to tilt their cup to get the liquid out anymore, so it’s nice that this straw follows how baby tilts the cup. Downside is the narrow straw and the weight make this one the most difficult for cleaning.
